Mariah Davis

Tax Production Specialist — Take Flight Business Solutions LLC

Originally from Colorado, Mariah brings a steady, down-to-earth perspective to her role as Tax Production Specialist at Take Flight Business Solutions. As a wife and mom of three, she knows firsthand that behind every tax return is a family or a future that matters. That’s the standard she holds herself to with every file she touches.

Mariah’s role is the production engine of the firm’s tax practice. She handles the detailed, precise work of preparing tax files for final review and sign-off by the Tax Director—ensuring that every document is organized, every source record is accounted for, and every return is accurate and complete before it moves forward. She doesn’t cut corners, and she doesn’t guess. If a technical question comes up during preparation, it gets flagged to the Tax Director through the firm’s Technical Log—not resolved independently.

What Mariah Does

Income Tax Production.

Mariah performs complete data entry for all tax returns into Drake Tax Software, working from client-provided source documents. Her job is to build a thorough, accurate file that is ready for the Tax Director’s final forensic review and signature. Every return that leaves her desk is production-ready—nothing missing, nothing unresolved.

Sales Tax Preparation.

Mariah gathers client data and performs the initial preparation of monthly sales tax filings. All filings go through Tax Director QC review and approval before submission—an extra layer of protection for every client.

Client Document Collection & Correspondence.

Mariah sends tax organizers to all clients and manages the document collection process—following up on missing items and confirming completeness before files route to the Tax Director. She handles the majority of day-to-day client correspondence related to document requests, organizers, and production status updates.

Source Document Organization.

Mariah scans, labels, and organizes all client source documents into the firm’s filing system—keeping Canopy Tax and OneDrive tidy and accessible so the production team and Tax Director can work efficiently.

Technical Flagging.

When a question comes up during preparation that requires a compliance judgment, Mariah flags it clearly in the firm’s Technical Log for Michael Le’s review. She never resolves compliance questions independently—that’s by design, and it’s one of the ways Take Flight protects clients.

Office Supply Management.

Mariah maintains the firm’s office supplies inventory and submits purchase orders through Amazon Business for Brian’s approval.

What Makes Mariah Different

Mariah describes her mindset as naturally inquisitive and detail-oriented—and that’s exactly what the production role demands. She’s not just moving data from one place to another. She’s reading the file, checking that the pieces fit together, and making sure the return is complete and coherent before it ever reaches final review.

She thrives under the pressure of tax season—staying calm, staying organized, and keeping the production process moving reliably. The behind-the-scenes nature of the work doesn’t diminish it. For Mariah, it’s exactly the kind of focused, high-integrity work she’s passionate about.

She treats every client file with the same care she gives her own family’s finances. For a firm that serves 225+ clients nationwide, that standard matters more than most clients will ever see—and it shows in the accuracy of the work that reaches them.

How the Review Process Protects You

Every return Mariah prepares goes through a mandatory final review by Michael Le, the firm’s Tax Director, before any signature or e-filing authorization. This two-stage production and review structure means no return is ever a single point of failure. Mariah builds the file. The Tax Director verifies it. Brian’s oversight covers the whole process.

That layered structure—backed by the firm’s Professional Liability (E&O) insurance—is what separates Take Flight from a solo preparer or an unreviewed filing service.
