Jenalyn Aquinde is the Senior Bookkeeper at Take Flight Business Solutions.
She is the foundation every clean set of financials is built on.
Month after month, she manages the full bookkeeping cycle for assigned clients—reconciling accounts, maintaining chart of accounts integrity, and delivering a tax-ready trial balance that the production team and Tax Director can rely on without second-guessing the numbers.
Good bookkeeping isn’t visible when it’s done right—that’s the point. When your books arrive at month-end clean, reconciled, and flagged for anything unusual, it’s because Jenalyn has already done the work to make them that way. That accuracy is what makes tax preparation faster, advisory conversations more productive, and your financial picture trustworthy.
What Jenalyn Handles
Full-Cycle Bookkeeping & Monthly Reconciliations.
Jenalyn manages the complete bookkeeping cycle for assigned clients—recording transactions, reconciling bank accounts, credit card statements, and loans each month so the books reflect reality, not estimates.
Tax-Ready Trial Balance Delivery.
Each month-end, Jenalyn delivers a clean, tax-ready trial balance to the Tax Accounting Assistant for production use. The Tax Director performs a formal mid-year and year-end review, ensuring a second set of expert eyes on the numbers before they matter most.
Exception Reporting.
Jenalyn flags anomalies, discrepancies, and unusual transactions in a monthly Exception Report submitted directly to Brian. Nothing gets buried. If something looks off, it gets documented and escalated—before it becomes a problem.
Chart of Accounts Integrity.
Jenalyn maintains the chart of accounts structure for every assigned client, ensuring transactions are consistently classified and the books remain accurate for both tax preparation and business reporting purposes.
Client Document Requests.
When additional information is needed to properly record or classify a transaction, Jenalyn submits “Ask the Client” requests through direct email and the Canopy Tax client portal—keeping communication organized, traceable, and professional.
Document Storage & Filing.
Jenalyn stores all bank statements, credit card statements, and loan statements in Google Drive and Canopy Tax per firm filing protocols—so every document is where it needs to be when the production team or Tax Director needs it.
Internal Firm Bookkeeping Support.
Jenalyn also assists Whitney with Take Flight’s own internal bookkeeping—reconciling invoicing and payment recordings to keep the firm’s financials as clean as the clients’ books.
Why It Matters for You
- Tax preparation is only as accurate as the books it’s built on. Jenalyn’s month-end work is what makes Michael’s technical review and Brian’s advisory conversations possible—and reliable.
- Anomalies get caught at the bookkeeping level, not at tax time. The monthly Exception Report means Brian sees unusual items early, when they’re still easy to address.
- Every transaction is classified consistently and every document is filed where it belongs. That means faster turnarounds, fewer back-and-forth requests, and no surprises during tax season.
- The trial balance Jenalyn delivers is reviewed at mid-year and year-end by the Tax Director—a two-layer quality control process that protects the integrity of your financial records.
Part of a Nationwide Virtual Team
Jenalyn works remotely as part of Take Flight’s distributed production team, collaborating through Canopy Tax, Google Drive, and OneDrive under the oversight of Brian Dela Cruz, CPA. All client data handled by Jenalyn is stored exclusively within the firm’s secure, designated platforms—consistent with the firm’s Written Information Security Plan (WISP) and data protection protocols.
